Procedure

1)  Use a deconstructed 5-1/4”x 7-1/4” envelope as a template to cut two envelopes  from two12x12 brown textured papers or use ready-made brown envelopes.

2)  Fold and tape together the envelopes.

3)  Fold the 6-1/4”x 7-1/4” brown paper in half lengthwise.

4)  Use tape to adhere the two envelope flaps to the back of the folded middle section.

5)  With the background stamp and java inkpad print design on light brown paper pieces.

6)  Tape the larger two stamped pieces onto the outside of the envelope suitcase.

7)  Tape the other two stamped pieces to the inner panels of the suitcase.

8)  Apply Fray Check liquid to the ends of the ribbon pieces.

9)  Tape down 5-1/4”of both pieces of ribbon to the front of the suitcase, spacing them about 3-1/2” apart.

10) Punch out two buckles from the vellum paper.

11) Slip the buckles onto the ribbon ends.

12) Position the magnetic discs under the buckles and wrap the ribbon around the suitcase to find position of

the other half of the magnet pair.  (Use glue if the magnets are not secure when

     you pull apart the ribbons.)

13) Fold the brown suede paper in thirds lengthwise and then fold 1-1/4” of the ends.

14) Make holes in the handle for the flat top rivets and using the rivet setter and hammer, attach the rivets.

15) Cut out a 3”x 1-5/8” window in one of the sage green suede paper pieces.

16) Stamp out your title and date on light green paper.

17) Tape the acetate sheet under the window and then tape the stamped title behind the acetate.

18) Tape the remaining green suede to the back of the luggage tag and use the pen to make faux stitches.

19) From the scrap green suede cut a piece 1-3/4”x3/8” to use as the luggage tag strap.

20) Mark faux stitches and attach strap to the tag with the eyelet rivet, making sure that the strap goes

     around the suitcase handle.

21) Stamp compass rose design onto the larger white printed paper.

22) Tape larger white piece to the larger olive green piece of paper.

23) Attach one of the brown triangles to the upper left hand corner of the white rectangles, leaving the

diagonal edge open and snipping off the upper right corner.

24) Tape the mustard paper square to the back of the picture frame leaving the upper side open.

25) Attach the backed frame to the brown triangle leaving the lower right corner open so that additional

photos can be slipped behind triangle.

26) Follow instructions 21 to 24 using solid mustard paper, printed green paper, brown triangle, the other frame, and square of olive green paper.

27) Tape three sides of the large olive green rectangle and large mustard yellow rectangle to either side of the suitcase inner panels, keeping the opening of the envelopes open.

28) Using red brick ink, stamp the word ‘journal’ on the printed mustard piece of paper before attaching it to one of the inner panels.

29) Using brown ink, stamp the Adventure Journal rubber stamp on the printed white paper before taping it to the other inner panel.

30) Stamp sayings onto the small beige rectangles and adhere them to one side of the suitcase.

31) Attach embellishments to the other side of the suitcase.

32) Stamp assorted travel themed images or words onto the office tags and distress them.

Tips

1)  Some of the embellishments and rubber stamps may no longer be available, so

improvise with what you can find, trying to stay in the autumn color palette.

2)  If you want to add two more secret pockets to the back of the suitcase, extend the

flap of the envelopes into rectangles and tape down only three sides of the flap.
