Hat Card with Felted Rose Pin |

Supplies 1) One package pink felting wool (Clover) 2) One package green felting wool (Clover) 3) 1-1/8” pin back 4) 12x12 textured straw colored cardstock 5) 17” moiré walnut colored 1-1/2”wide ribbon (Martha Stewart) 6) Fabri-Tac glue (Beacon)
Tools 1) Pen style needle felting tool (Clover) 2) Needle felting rose appliqué mold (Clover) 3) Styrofoam block to felt on 4) Scissors
Procedure 1) Following instructions in rose appliqué mold package, felt a flower and two leaves on the Styrofoam block. 2) Glue the pin back to the rose and leaves. 3) Fold the cardstock in half and trace the hat onto it, placing the top of the hat on the fold. 4) Cut out the card. 5) Cut the ribbon into two pieces, 5” and 12”. 6) About 4” from the end of the 12” piece, tie a knot in the ribbon. 7) Tuck and glue one end of the 5” piece into the knot. 8) Glue the two ends of the ribbon (one side has the knot) onto the card to form the hatband so that two ribbon ends hang free from the knot. 9) Trim the free ends of the ribbons into V-shapes and cut the excess ribbon on the right side of the card. 10) Pin the felted rose onto the knot of the hatband.
Tip: You can write, rub-on, or rubber stamp a greeting onto the brim of the hat to personalize the card.
